#TBT this week will be a couple pieces from our Blacksheep, We Cannot Dye Collection back in 2011-12 winter/holiday. We came up with the collection to self represent blacksheeps who are looked at as “different” from either their peers, family, coworkers, or classmates. Our message is to accept being a blacksheep and being a blacksheep, you can’t dye. Meaning dont let anyones words or beliefs interfere and recolor yours. Be the blacksheep and be proud of it!

Few years back at an Event… To these guys… 110ve!

The Big HH hats you see is actually an old Head Hunters x Suhreal collaborative snapback. We came out with a series of 2 color way and 1 exclusive color way for the team members of Suhreal and Head Hunters Crew only. Our very first event was at a HH event and will never forget it! I think some odd months later, it was only right to do something with them to further show the appreciate and respect for them. Ye!

No hard videos of us hitting the waves, but homie Kenta here definitely got his wraps and hitting those waves like its his passion (because it is). Always a GREAT talk with him every time I meet up with him. Inspiring to see and hear inspired, passionate people like himself.

I have stepped out of skimming, but going to dedicate time to get back on it. Like Kenta, skimming is something that really does clear my mind, body, and soul. Its almost a cleanse haha. Being at the beach almost always reminds me of how small we are in this beautiful unpredictable world. I may sound hippy-ish and crazy, but surfing/skimming is suhreal to me because it always shows me: The water is beautiful, the waves is loaded with energy, and so are we. We are born with up to 75%-80% water, and by the time we hit our adult years, we are made up of up to 60%. We, human beings, is made up of mostly water. Imagine the amount of wave/energy we can create! Just sayin.

So aside from the hippy random and weird thought I catch myself getting into a lot, we talked about this very small skim culture in the bay area and the young people in it. So here is one video of the up and coming ripper making his name around the bay, Sam Weeks.

And a couple of my favorite skim videos to watch and appreciate.

So if you’re looking to get into it this spring/summer, make sure to hit up bay area’s Square Skimboards. http://squarewinch.com/ Or go look up some victoria, exiles or zap boards. If you’re looking to catch waves, you need a foamie, carbon, kevlar, or something along those lines. You will not be able to do it with those wooden skimboards you get at big5 or walmart, unless your those argao kids.
